An Interview with Stacy

Hello! In the coming days we will be interviewing some of our favorite Ten on Ten participants in this space, to introduce to you some talented and inspiring photographers.

To kick things off, we got in touch with Stacy Bostrom, a faithful "Ten on Tenner" from the start of the project over two years ago. Stacy is a wife and mother, and a wonderful photographer; check out her amazing portfolios here!

We feel honored that Stacy would take the time to answer our questions, and it is a joy to share her responses (which in some cases are photos, instead of words, which is just perfect for the Ten on Ten blog) with you!

So, without further ado, the interview:

Kristen, for Ten on Ten: What is your name, age, and location?

Stacy: Stacy Bostrom, 31, Solana Beach, CA

K: How long have you been participating in the Ten on Ten photo project, and how did you first hear about it?

S: I have been faithfully a ten-on-tenner since the beginning I believe when my dear friend Rebekah came up with the splendid idea. It fits my style of trying to capture little nuggets of beauty with my camera every day.

K: What inspires you about the Ten on Ten project?

S: What inspires me about ten on ten is the challenge to make a normal day into a beautiful journal through photographs - and seeing other normal lives portrayed in magical ways through different lenses around the world.

K: What do you find yourself taking photos of when capturing your day for Ten on Ten?

S: Gavin always - my 2 year old son. Also I somehow always have plants or flowers.

K: Do you have a favorite Ten on Ten set from the past year? Why is it a favorite?

S: ten on ten of february - it was beautiful sunny winter day, and we had a delightful day outside - just gavin and myself.

K: Has this project influenced how you see your daily life in any way?

S: In some ways it has influenced my photography - in looking at normal daily events in a unique way with my camera. I think I do miniature 10x10's throughout the whole month, I love to journal my days through my camera.

K: Why might you encourage someone to participate in this project?

S: You don't have to be some fancy photographer - it is such a way to see a normal day as beautiful, it is a great exercise in seeing the day as simple and beautiful throughout it's complexities.

K: What does an average day look like for you?

S:

K: What does an ideal day look like for you?

S:

K: What inspires you currently?

S: eyes that are so alive it is like they are dancing (as seen here.)

Thank you so much, Stacy!

Happy photographing, friends!
